7 Days, 7 Ways Skincare Routine

Fitting in time for a well-rounded, consistent skincare routine can be a challenge. Life is busy enough right? But just like you use a calendar to track your schedule, why not do the same for your skin? Trust us, a little time for self-care will go a long way in tackling the rest of your to do list. Read on for some suggestions on how to take steps every day of the week to properly care for your skin.

MONDAY-SUNDAY: From Day to Night Routine

Let’s face it, there are some things that you just have to do every day if you want your skin to look great. If you’re busy and it’s been a long day, you can always skip a few steps, but at a minimum make sure you always wash your face, use a moisturizer and and an eye cream every morning and night. A complete daily skincare routine includes:

Morning: Start with cleansing, then apply a serum, followed by a moisturizer. Pat on an eye cream and then add your sunscreen before applying any makeup.

At Night: Cleanse, making sure you remove all your makeup. Double cleansing is great for night time because it deep cleans the skin and pores. Then follow the same steps as your morning routine, but consider adding an anti-aging step at the end by incorporating an essential oil.

WEDNESDAY

Just like you, your skin might be in a mid-week slump. Brighten things up by gently exfoliating. Once a week is typically enough for most skin types, and it’s important to not over-exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating generates new skin cells and also helps improve the effectiveness of skincare products.

SATURDAY

The weekend…you are ready to relax and so is your skin. Carve out 10-15 minutes of your day to incorporate a mask into your weekly skincare routine. Masks work to lift away dullness, moisturize, restore and heal your skin after a long week.

SUNDAY: Self Check Your Skin

This is really a monthly tip, but consider making Sunday the day you examine your skin for any spots or moles that are new or have changed. When it comes to skin cancer, early detection is important so if you see anything that seems unusual, be safe and make that dermatologist appointment.
