Here’s What’s New in All-Natural Skincare for 2021
While we’re never one to be trendy, we do know that skincare is always evolving. Keeping a watchful eye on all-natural skincare trends ensures we are delivering the best products on the market. Check out what we think will be hot in 2021.
Niacinamide
This is definitely one all-natural ingredient your skin will love you for using. Pretty much any skin type will benefit from using products containing niacinamide. A water-soluble vitamin B3, niacinamide helps visibly reduce pores, improves skin tone and reduces fine lines and wrinkles—all while strengthening the skin. Lately it’s getting a lot of attention because of its ability to protect the skin from those harmful blue light rays coming from our computers. As more of us are working and schooling from home, HEV light and skin damage is becoming a real thing, and niacinamide has what it takes to be a true blue-light blocker.
Witch Hazel
Witch hazel is a shrub that Native Americans have used for centuries as a remedy for any skin issues related to inflammation and irritation. Known for its acne fighting properties, witch hazel treats both inflammatory (cystic) and noninflammatory (blackheads/whiteheads) by acting as an astringent while also providing antioxidant benefits to the skin. Products that include witch hazel have also been known to help treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema by working to reduce inflammation.
Bakuchiol
If you have sensitive skin, bakuchiol is an all-natural ingredient you’ll want on your watch list. A gentle, vegan (which we love at Tuel), all-natural alternative to retinol, bakuchiol offers the same benefits without all the issues retinols can cause sensitive skin. Derived from the babchi plant, bakuchiol has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties along with antibacterial benefits. It increases cell turnover, stimulates collagen production and can help fight aging.
Noni
Who doesn’t want to add something to their skincare routine that has more than 100 vitamins and minerals, protects the skin and offers anti-aging benefits? A super fruit that comes from the Noni tree, it’s a tropical fruit native to Hawaii, Fiji and Tahiti. For more than 2,000 years this healing fruit has been used for many skin and body issues. Noni is rich in vitamins C, A, potassium and amino acids, making it ripe for boosting the skin’s natural process for repairing the skin’s collagen, fighting acne, and treating inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema.
Mushroom
The overall health benefits of mushrooms are many thanks to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and vitamin D. When it comes to skincare, mushrooms can help reduce inflammation and irritation along with fighting wrinkles. When found in skincare products, they also help protect the skin from environmental factors while also being hydrating—both preventing and repairing skin damage.
Oats
Oats are not only hydrating, anti-aging and soothing, but they contain saponins which naturally cleanse the skin while removing the dirt and oil that clog pores. Plus, we all know that oats have soothing and healing powers when it comes to skin issues, sunburns and more. Oats are excellent for maintaining the skin’s barrier and reducing redness and dryness—an excellent treatment if you are suffering from rosacea or eczema.
