Practice Safe Sun: Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month
We live by these three words every single day: Practice Safe Sun. Just in case you don’t believe us, take a look at the hard, dangerous facts according to the Melanoma Research Alliance:
- Melanoma is the deadliest of skin cancers, and the rates of diagnosis for the disease are outpacing almost all other cancers.
- Today, Melanoma is one of the most common cancers found among young adults in the U.S.
- One person dies of Melanoma every hour, every day.
- Melanoma, the deadliest forms for skin cancer, is in most cases related to UV-induced damage. This includes tanning beds and the sun. Sunburns, especially at a young age, are linked to melanoma.
That’s why we are doing our part to get the word out as we celebrate National Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month in May with our featured sunscreen product: Daily Protect SPF 30 Daily Moisturizer. For every Daily Protect we sell, Tuel|Berodin will donate $1.00 to the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Care Center. Plus, every skin care purchase includes a bracelet to help spread the word and remind you to practice safe sun every day. Be sure to also help us tell the world about our mission by posting a photo on Instagram with your bracelet using #practicesafesun
The crazy part? You can help prevent skin cancer just by making applying sunscreen a daily habit. Don’t forget to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays with an SPF of at least 30, and go beyond your face and body, and slather it on your hands, ears, and neck too. You can also cover up with protective clothing such as hats and sunglasses, and avoid those peak mid-day sun rays.
